Interested in bringing a little one for a ride? With groups and lessons throughout the week, here’s everything you need to know.

From what age can they ride?
We’re happy to take kids from the age of 4.

What can they do?
They are welcome to come for lessons or lead rein rides, even if they’ve never been on a pony before. For kids under 6 we only recommend a 1/2hr ride as they tend to get a bit fidgety.

If they’ve never been on a pony before, what would you recommend for the first time?
If the weather is looking good then you can’t beat a 1/2hr lead rein ride for first timers. If they enjoy it then you can always look at lessons in the future.

Do they need riding gear?
Not really, no. We provide a hat to fit, and they are welcome to keep using that as long as you like. Wellies or small walking boots are fine to start off with, trainers are O.K. too, but not ideal. If you have riding gear for them, or are planning to buy some, then you’re welcome to bring it along as long as it is up to current EU standards.

What options are there for lessons?
Most of our young riders come to 1/2hr group lessons which we call “Unicorns groups”. We run them on Saturday and Sunday mornings, as well as after school during the week. We also offer private lessons if you can’t make it to a group or would prefer one-to-one tuition. Read More

What if there are no groups available at a convenient time?
We only need three riders to start a group (kids or adults), so if you can find a couple of friends to come as well, we can try to start a group at a time that suits you.

How often do I need to come?
You don’t have to commit to anything, just book lessons as and when you like. But, as with everything in life, the more often your child rides the faster they will learn.

Do you do kids parties?
Yes we do! 1hr sessions which are focused on having fun. The kids can spend some time with one or two of our ponies, learning about them and helping to make them pretty. During the hour each child will be taken for a short ride (usually in pairs). You are welcome to use our classroom FREE of charge to have some snacks or drinks while you are here.

How do I book?
You’ll need to call us at the office on 01248 430377 to book. We do ask you to pay for lessons when you book them, so please have a credit/debit card to hand. If you’re booking a lead rein ride, there’s no need to pay till the day.

What if I have to cancel?
All lessons and rides must be paid for at time of booking. We only ask for 24hrs notice of cancellation to give you a full refund or credit. Unfortunately if you’re cancelling on the day, we can’t offer refund or credit and you will lose the payment.
